The "live" conference will take place during the weekend of Jan. 23-24. During the preceding week, each evening we’ll release pre-recorded panel discussions and presentations addressing key issues facing our movement, which you can watch any time.
This year has seen a movement of essential workers develop across a diverse set of workplaces. From meatpacking to education, workers across the economy are taking bold action to win safer workplaces and fair pay during the COVID-19 pandemic. This workshop, put on by the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), will discuss examples of these actions and discuss the potential to develop a new wave of essential worker leaders, organizing in support of broader political demands, such as Medicare For All!
EWOC is a joint project of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the United Electrical Workers (UE). The project focuses on using distributed organizing with a mass volunteer base to provide organizing support and training to non-union workers organizing in their workplaces.
